The Little Mermaid Jr. - Summer Theatre Production

Activity Description

Join us for our production of Disney's "The Little Mermaid, Jr." Have fun "under the sea" building your acting and performance skills as you create this timeless musical story for all to enjoy!

Auditions will take place Monday and Tuesday, May 6-7, at The Zephyr Theatre (601 Main Street N., Stillwater)

Performances: June 27,28, 29 at 6:00pm at Stillwater Area High School

In the past, we have had a large number of participants. If this happens again, we will split up into two casts performing seperately. We would add three additional performances - June 29 at 1:00pm and June 30 at 1:00pm and 6:00pm.

(Tickets: $10/adults, $7/students and seniors, $5/children 5 and under)

For students selected for a part, there will be a $150 registration fee.

Rehearsals will take place: Monday- Friday, June 10-27 from 12-4 pm, with some additional choreography workshops from 9:00am-12:00pm.

For auditions: please come prepared to read from the script and sing at least one minute of a song of your choice. (You can sing a cappella or bring a karaoke track on CD or itunes to sing along with. A CD player and speaker will be provided.)

Bringing a headshot and resume to the audition is optional. No previous experience is necessary. (All auditions will be recorded to aid in casting)

Shell Lake Music Theatre Camp

Time: Overnight Residential Camp

Location: Shell Lake Arts Center, Shell Lake, WI

Age Requirement: For students who have completed grades 6 - 11

Faculty: Eric Mark Olson (Program Director), Nickie Kromminga Hill (Choreographer), Bradley Beahen (Vocal Coach), Jenna Dosch (Accompanist)

Activity Description 

Music Theatre Camp is appropriate for all actors, singers, and dancers who love musical theater! If you want to fine-tune your skills in time for your Jr./High School & Community Theatre auditions, this is the camp for you! We move fast and work as hard as we play! With classes dealing with in the moment acting, vocal production and jazz/musical theatre dance techniques, you will be well on your way to becoming a genuine triple threat. You will work all week with experienced faculty, who are also seasoned professional artists, alongside your fellow performers.  All levels welcome!

There are no auditions to get in! Students will attend classes in the morning and afternoon and will join other campers for performances and activities at night. A final performance of materials learned throughout the week will be held on Friday of camp for parents, friends and community members!

St. Olaf Theater Camp

Activity Description

St. Olaf theater camp is designed to learn about the many facets of theater from creative professionals and explore everything from acting fundamentals to stage combat with others who love theater as much as you do.

This camp is an exciting, fun-filled experience where we stress the collaborative nature of live theater. Through teamwork, we create a safe environment that encourages participants to think creatively and expressively. Our goal is to teach, guide, and nurture the emerging theater artist as well as those interested in learning about the theater. This is a low-stress, high-energy experience. Come and have fun, make new friends and learn about the art and craft of theater on the beautiful St. Olaf campus in historic Northfield, Minnesota.

Students of all levels leave camp feeling more experienced in multiple areas of theater.  In addition to classes and rehearsal – all taught by talented instructors and guest specialists – the camp schedule includes nightly social activities.  No prior theater experience is required.
